The focus of the OGP is to promote; greater democracy, transparency, accountability, making leaders responsive to citizens’ needs, and making the citizens participate in decision-making, policy formulation, development planning, budgetary processes, service delivery and monitoring & reporting. It also calls for the government to make timely available of important public information for citizen access.

Law and order problems are on the rise due to socio-economic factors and are further aggravated by substance abuse. The primary issue of the government of the day and the other relevant State agencies is that there is a need for a much-needed reform to the legal framework on substance abuse.

Youth unemployment is a critical issue that Papua New Guinea (PNG) currently faces. It not only hampers the economic growth of the country but also poses significant challenges to social stability and overall development. Addressing this issue requires a comprehensive approach that involves identifying the root causes, creating opportunities for skill development, and establishing pathways for employment.

Our PDIA team, which consists of a group that will be working on issues relating to Youth Unemployment and Pathways, are instrumental leaders whose work involves the youth space and key areas that are instrumental facilitating change, addressing issues of and relating to Youth unemployment, and creating pathways for youth.

Applying the tax and collection of the tax is one thing however how the tax should be utilized is another. PNG citizens are already heavily burden with digging deep into their pockets sometimes even beyond to the extent that sometimes they end up with nothing to sustain themselves at the end of the day.

As we strive to find innovative solutions to this problem, one approach that shows promise is harnessing the power of art to create employment opportunities for the youth.

The Law is not and cannot be the only answer to minimize SARV and GBV especially when the system and process of governance remain corrupt and broken. New ways and strategies need to be looked at to deal with GBV and SARV and other related offences.
